Opening of the ECAP III Office in Bangkok

Mr António Campinos, Executive Director of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and Mrs Pajchima Tanasanti, Director General of the Department of Intellectual Property in the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, celebrated the opening of the office of the EU-ASEAN programme on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights at the Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand. The official inauguration of the ECAP Office in the ASEAN region took place on July 12, 2013.

 

The EU-ASEAN Project on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (ECAP III) is aimed at supporting ASEAN regional integration and further upgrade and harmonize the systems for IP creation, protection, administration and enforcement in the ASEAN region, in line with international IP standards and with the ASEAN IPR Action Plan 2011-2015.

 

EUIPO became the implementing agency for the project in December 2012.
