Joint ASEAN Trademark and IT Consultation Meeting March 2015

A Joint ASEAN Trademark and IT Consultation Meeting was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 16 to 18 March 2015. The joint meeting was held back to back to the third meeting of the ASEAN Trademark Cooperation Task Force, established by the ASEAN Working Group of Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC). The joint meeting was attended by members of the TM Task Force and senior representatives from the ASEAN IP Offices, as well as by EUIPO, the ECAP Project Leader, the ECAP IP Expert, an EUIPO IT expert and an ECAP IT expert.

This event aimed to follow up on the progress of the trademark-related initiatives supported by the ECAP Project and to assist the TM Task Force in completing these initiatives before the 2015 deadline, and to discuss with the IT experts the IT tools that are of interest to the Trademark experts and that would facilitate the trademark work in the region. In a separate parallel meeting, the IT Consultation Meeting dealt with other items pertaining to the work of the IT experts, in particular ASEAN Designview and other IT tools included in the ECAP III Annual Work Plan 2015, adopted in Brunei Darussalam on 12 March 2015.
