Best Practices on Quality Management Consultation Meeting

A Consultation Meeting on Best Practices on Quality Management was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 9 to 11 December 2013. The meeting was attended by senior officials, at the level of Head of Trade Marks, Head of Industrial Designs and/or Head of Quality Management, from all ten ASEAN IP Offices.

Following expert missions to all interested ASEAN IP Offices, during which trade mark and industrial design processes were mapped and possible areas for improvement identified, proposals for a quality management action plan and reference materials for the ASEAN countries were prepared to be analysed and discussed during the Consultation Meeting.

With the assistance of two EUIPO experts, this meeting adopted a number of recommendations regarding best practices and a common quality policy that might be considered for implementation at the regional level within ASEAN.
