ASEAN Regional Trademark Workshop

An ASEAN Regional Trademark Workshop took place in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, from 24 to 26 February 2016. The training was attended by senior trademark examiners from the ASEAN IP Offices together with a representative of the ASEAN Secretariat.

This activity aimed at providing specialised training to officials from the ASEAN IP Offices focused on the ASEAN Common Guidelines on Substantive Trademark Examination and from a perspective of training the trainers. Afterwards the senior examiners would be expected to conduct trainings using the guidelines in their respective offices and for trademark users in the region.

The workshop was conducted by one EUIPO expert, the ECAP III Project leader and the Project IP expert. The three-day training included group exercises and allowed exchanges of best practices among the Member States and EUIPO.
