OCT 2014 – National Open Seminar GIs - MY

A national open seminar on the protection and promotion of geographical indications took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 1 October 2014. The seminar was conducted by an EU expert and attended by geographical indication owners, producers, government agencies, as well as trade organisations.

This one-day seminar focused on strengthening the skills and knowledge of professionals involved in the development of GIs, both in the public and private sectors, to raise awareness on the GIs’ economic impact and to share best practices for managing GIs as a strategic business tool.
