MAR 2015 - Small Group Training on Madrid Protocol Operations – TH

A Small Group Training on Madrid Protocol operations took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 19 to 21 March. The training, organised in coordination with AANZFTA, was attended by trade mark and IT officials from Cambodia, Indonesia and Lao PDR and was directed by the ECAP IP expert, an EUIPO IT expert, an ECAP IT expert and an IT expert from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.

The training introduced topics concerning all the relevant Madrid concepts, development of the inbound and outbound Madrid workflows, taking into account the national trademark procedure of the participating countries, and adapting Madrid model forms to suit the needs of the offices.  The Madrid operations of EUIPO were also presented to the participants to enable them to better visualize how they could implement Madrid in their respective offices.

The IT Officers from the three offices worked with the EUIPO IT Expert and the ECAP IT Expert in adapting the Madrid workflow according to the business requirements of their respective offices.
