DEC 2014 – Madrid Protocol Expert Mission - MM

An expert´s mission to provide advice regarding accession to the Madrid Protocol –International Registration of Marks took place in Myanmar on 15-16 December 2014.

The training sessions were directed by the ECAP IP expert, and attended by IP officials from MOST. The mission was organised in coordination with AANZFTA.

The training focused on specific requirements of the Office as part of its preparations for Madrid accession, the legal and technical aspects of Madrid Protocol and practiced on how to deal with Madrid Protocol processes in the TM Office acting as Office of Origin or Office of a Designated Contracting Party. Specific recommendations were also made on the management of their workload upon implementation of their Trademark Law.
