GI Exhibition in Thailand

The ECAP Project contributed to the Exhibition of International GIs that took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 27-29 March 2013, back to back with the WW GI Symposium, by sponsoring the participation of producers of traditional products originating from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

GI experts from the Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Singapore were also sponsored to attend the GI information-sharing sessions that took place during the event.

Brunei stand at the GI exhibition. GI products on exhibit are weaving handicrafts, such as table cloth, small handbags, tissue cases, pillow cases, skirts and turbans.
Cambodia stand at the GI Exhibition. GI products on exhibit are Kampot pepper and Kampong spue palm sugar.
Indonesia stand at the GI Exhibition. GI products on exhibit are various types of Arabica coffee and various types of Arabica java preanger coffee.
Lao PDR stand at the GI Exhibition. HRH Princess Sirindhorn with Mr Sitha Phouyavong, Director General of Department of Intellectual Property of Lao PDR and Mr Soukinda Siladouangchay, Lao exhibitor of bolaven coffee.
Malaysia stand at the GI exhibition. GI products on exhibit are coffee, pepper, woven cloth, palm sugar, snack food and sabah tea, among others.
Myanmar stand at the GI exhibition. GI products on exhibit are Kaung Mon (peanut & sesame jun), shwPyi Nam (thanakhar), Aye Thar Yar Wine, Myanmar beer, Yuzana (coconut oil), Ayeetaung (picked tea leaves) and War ShweZin (silk wear).
Philippines stand at the GI exhibition. GI products on exhibit are Lake Sebu T'nalak, Cebu dried mango, Batangas barako coffee, Bicol pili nuts, Lumban burda (embroidery), Aklan Pina cloth and Tayabas lambanog (local whisky).
Vietnam stand at the GI exhibition. GI products on exhibit are Phan Thien fishsauce, Binh Thuan (dragon fruit), Buon Ma Thuot coffee, Hue palm leaf conical hat, Nga Son sedge, Tra My cinnamon, Ngoc Linh Ginseng, Tien Phuoc Aloe wood, Tien Phuoc pepper, Lang Son star anise, Ninh Thuan grapefruit, Tan Cuong tea, Thanh Ha Litchi, Hong Dan red rice,Tan Trieu pomelo, HoaLoc nago and Ba den Custard apple.
