Fourth Meeting of the Project Steering Committee

The Fourth Meeting of the Project Steering Committee of the EU-ASEAN Project on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (ECAP III) was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 23 March 2016, back to back with the 49th session of the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation.

At this meeting, the Project Steering Committee, the body responsible to oversee and validate the overall direction and policy of the project, adopted the ECAP III Phase II Annual Work Plan 2016 and approved the project Activity Report 2015, prepared by the Project Management Team. The Annual Work Plan 2016 comprises a total of 16 key activities to be implemented across the ASEAN region between March 2016 and February 2017. 

The Project Steering Committee meeting was co-chaired by Ms Shahrinah Yusof Khan, Director of the Brunei Darussalam Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO), and Chair of the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation, on behalf of ASEAN and Mr Bryan Fornari, Head of Operations, European Union Delegation in Bangkok, on behalf of the European Union. The meeting was attended by representatives of the ten ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat, the European Union Delegation to Bangkok and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in its capacity as project implementing agency.
