Consultation Meeting on IPR Enforcement

An ASEAN Consultation Meeting on IPR Enforcement was held in Manila, Philippines, from 25 to 27 November 2013. The ASEAN countries were represented by an official from the National IP Office and two other representatives from the national police, national customs and/or the judiciary.

This activity aimed at improving the capacity of the ASEAN enforcement agencies to adequately enforce IPRs in the region.

This meeting, conducted by one EUIPO expert and one European expert, gave the opportunity to participants to share information and views about IPR enforcement in their respective countries and in the ASEAN region as a whole.  The meeting adopted a number of recommendations regarding best practices on IPR enforcement that might be considered for implementation at the regional level within ASEAN.
