ASEAN Regional Trademark Workshop

An ASEAN Regional Trademark Workshop took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 22 to 24 August 2016. On the second day, the EU Ambassador to ASEAN, Mr Francisco Fontan Pardo, opened the training session to all participants, new and mid-level trademark examiners from the ASEAN IP Offices together with a representative of the ASEAN Secretariat.

This activity, aimed at providing specialised training to officials from the ASEAN IP Offices, focused on the ASEAN Common Guidelines on Substantive Trademark Examination. This workshop is the third after the adoption of the Guidelines by the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) in December 2014.

The workshop was conducted by one EUIPO expert, the ECAP III Project leader and the Project IP expert. The three-day training allowed exchanges of best practices between the Member States and the EUIPO.
